ABOUT ME

My decision to train as a coach at the Institute of Continuing Education, University of Cambridge came very much through my work for over 25 years as a qualified reflexologist and my desire to be even better equipped to facilitate people in achieving their desires and goals through exploration of their values, thoughts, feelings and an increase in self-awareness. Many of my reflexology clients expressed desire for change in some area of their life and I wanted to be able to support them on their journey of discovery and success.

Therefore, my practice now as a coach can include assisting people in assessing their current situation and exploring the many possible options open to them around the different areas of their lives, ranging from health and well-being, including mental and physical issues, weight and diet related issues and chronic health conditions, to work, career, personal development or life changes. My approach as a coach is person-centred and I believe that the collaborative, non-judgmental and safe relationship my client and I build together is the foundation necessary for my clients to understand and achieve their goals and to unlock their full potential.

I am also a certified Resilience Practitioner able to assist with building and strengthening your ability to cope in an often difficult and stressful world. I am a member of the Association for Coaching, UK, I adhere to their Code of Ethics and Good Practice, I have current insurance and as a requirement of the Association I complete further practitioner training every year by continuing to study diverse topics in coaching thereby expanding my skills and knowledge for the benefit of my clients.

As a reflexologist I practiced for more than 25 years, until I stopped offering full reflexology treatments in 2024. I have lived and worked in several countries around the world where I have been fortunate enough to meet and work with many other complementary therapists and clients. This has given me the chance to deepen my knowledge and to learn and grow from a diverse group of people and cultures, thus broadening my range of skills and my overall awareness of both myself and others.  This has therefore enabled me to become a coach with diverse skills, knowledge and understanding of the multitude of issues we all face today and how to maintain a positive outlook while working towards goals and coping with any hurdles along the way.

I continue to take practitioner development courses in many areas of health and wellbeing, such as traditional Chinese medicine, basic counselling techniques, anatomy and physiology and health disorders, general nutrition and aromatherapy. By continuing to study, I am constantly expanding my skills and knowledge and what I can offer to my clients.

I can offer during a coaching session, if needed and desired, to work on some reflexology points on the hands to assist clients with their health and wellbeing.  I am also a qualified Level II Reiki practitioner and I have studied foundational herbal medicine.

My rationale for continuing to study and for being curious generally, is that I believe exploration and learning are life-long processes which enhance one’s happiness and are empowering.

In 2024 I was made a Lifetime member of the Association of Reflexologists, UK for my commitment for many years to reflexology.  I am a member of the Association for Coaching.  Its members must adhere to a Code of Ethics and Good Practice and complete Continued Practitioner Development each year.  I have full liability insurance for both coaching and reflexology.
